This Giving Tuesday, DMB fans turned generosity into impact. Through a special one-day merch sale, the band raised $10,000 to support Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, a groundbreaking community-run rescue center in northern Kenya devoted to rehabilitating and releasing orphaned and abandoned elephants.

Thank you for supporting Bama Works! Together we raised $214,000 during the 2025 summer tour! All proceeds for this auction will benefit the Bama Works Fund. Bama Works Fund was established by Dave Matthews Band to carry out the band's commitment to charitable works, both close to home and worldwide. From the Amazon Rain Forest to community parks, Bama Works has given to numerous non-profit organizations, community programs and charities.

Dave Matthews Band has wrapped their 2025 Spring/Summer Tour by hitting a remarkable milestone: for the second year in a row, the band and Live Nation venues created a Zero Waste fan experience across the entire run.

Through Bama Works' generous contribution, a community of over 4,000 people in Laikipia County, Kenya — including the nearly 200 students who attend the school — now has a reliable, sustainable source of clean water. The final infrastructure setup includes a solar-powered submersible pump; a 10m tall elevated structure with 10,000L of water storage; water distribution points to the primary school kitchen, classrooms, and handwashing stations; a community water kiosk; and a community livestock trough. This well is contributing to increased school attendance, improved health and hygiene, and improved food security in this arid region of the country.

The Bama Works Fund supports a wide range of community-led initiatives that aim to make a positive difference in the city of Charlottesville, or the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Nelson, and Orange.

Like many college towns, Charlottesville faces an affordable housing gap, estimated at over 4,000 units. With high housing costs and low wages, many families struggle, with African American families hit hardest by the crisis.

Established by the Dave Matthews Band in 1991, the Bama Works Fund is one of the many organizations working to address the housing crisis, having mobilized unprecedented levels of catalytic capital and cross-sector collaboration to fill one-third of the city’s affordable housing gap.

The Dave Matthews Band 2025 Tour has generously committed to help plant another million trees, totalling 6 million with The Nature Conservancy’s Plant a Billion Trees program, a global reforestation effort. With your help and commitments from the band, The Dreaming Tree Wines and other tour partners, five million trees have already been funded between 2020-2024.

In conjunction with their return to Southern California, Dave Matthews Band has pledged $500,000 to support California wildfire relief efforts through their Bama Works nonprofit.

The Dave Matthews Band Summer 2024 Tour has committed to help plant one million MORE trees with The Nature Conservancy's Plant a Billion Trees program, a global forest restoration effort. Dave Matthews Band’s ongoing partnership with The Nature Conservancy has resulted in four million trees being planted since 2020.

The Dave Matthews Band’s Bama Works Fund is handing out nearly $775,000 to nonprofit groups all around Charlottesville.

The Community Climate Collaborative (C3) is one of 106 nonprofits receiving funding from the initiative.

“We’re very fortunate to have somebody so influential, but also so heavily invested in making sure our community has the resources it needs to be thriving,” said Maggie Davis with C3. “Their grant goes towards our climate action activity kits that we send out to the local fourth and fifth graders.”

The Charlottesville Area Community Foundation (CACF) is helping to distribute the funding.

In October 2015, Daniel Germain enrolled in the Excelsior Technical Institute, or ETI. The trade school had just opened and was one of the newest initiatives for FLM Haiti, a nonprofit that provides education and health care services in Haiti. After two years of training in plumbing and electricity, Germain, finished in 2017, part of ETI’s first graduating class. With his new skills, he was able to forge a new beginning, finding a steady job in construction. A job that provided for him and his family.

Dave Matthews Band’s ongoing partnership with The Nature Conservancy has resulted in three million trees being planted since 2020. This year’s continued partnership will bring the total to four million trees.

Fund extends its twenty-plus years of commitment to Charlottesville and the surrounding counties.

Over the past two years, Dave Matthews Band has planted over 2 million trees through its partnership with the Nature Conservancy. The band has committed to helping plant an additional one million trees in 2022.
