Dave Matthews Band Raises $10,000 on Giving Tuesday to Support Reteti Elephant Sanctuary

This Giving Tuesday, DMB fans turned generosity into impact. Through a special one-day merch sale, the band raised $10,000 to support Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, a groundbreaking community-run rescue center in northern Kenya devoted to rehabilitating and releasing orphaned and abandoned elephants.

Reteti, located in the remote Namunyak Conservancy, is the first Indigenous-owned and operated elephant sanctuary in Africa. Their work not only protects vulnerable wildlife, but also provides meaningful employment and professional pathways for the local Samburu community. Dave Matthews Band has long been inspired by Reteti’s mission of stewardship, sustainability, and community empowerment.

Thanks to the incredible support from fans, the funds raised will directly assist Reteti in providing round-the-clock care, veterinary support, and critical resources needed to give young elephants a second chance at life.

Bama Works and the band are grateful to everyone who participated in this year’s Giving Tuesday effort.
